Sounding Off -- iMEGA, a U.S.-based trade association, has submitted a 42-page response to the U.S. Treasury's draft of the UIGEA regulations. "These proposed regulations will limit Americans’ freedom to use the Internet as they see fit in the privacy of their own homes,” said iMEGA President Ed Leyden. "While UIGEA is intended to protect minors and problem gamblers, the law ironically makes these groups more vulnerable by targeting U.S. banks and credit card companies, whose identity verification, fraud prevention and credit profiling systems protect online consumers every day."

Board Changes at Party -- PartyGaming has appointed four new members, including Lord Moonie, to its board of directors. In addition, Ruth Parasol and Russell DeLeon -- who together hold a 28.43 percent stake in the company -- have nominated John Davy, chairman of Mentor Inns LLP, to act as their representative on the board. Likewise, Anurag Dikshit, who retains a 27.66 percent stake in Party, has nominated Emilio Gomez -- most recently of Baker Tilly -- as his representative on the board.

Starting Price Starting Well -- Betfair is set to launch its new starting price (SP) product tomorrow after a successful day of trials Wednesday at the U.K.'s Southwell Racecourse. According to the company, its SP product produced an average of 26.5 percent better odds on winners than official SPs. "We are thrilled with the way the product has performed, and been received and used by our customers," said Betfair spokesman Tony Calvin. The worst percentage book we have returned is just 102 percent, and the best, 95.7 percent, so the value to be had at Betfair SP is there for all to see."

CanAffco Calls All Affiliates -- The Canadian Affiliate Management Co. has launched its CanAffco Affiliate Poker Tour, its first event to be held at PrivyPoker.com, with $2,000 added. CanAffco said that the tour is open to all affiliates, regardless of the programs they represent. Affiliates do not have to be members of the affiliate program to host sites, but will be required to open a player account to be registered. "The Affiliate Poker Tour is the only affiliate poker tour free for all affiliates to join, regardless of the types of businesses that they represent," said CanAffco President Gian Perroni.

Jaxx, Lycos Partner Up -- Fluxx AG subsidiary Jaxx UK Ltd. has inked a two-year agreement to become Lycos UK's exclusive betting and gaming partner. The deal comes roughly a month after Jaxx launched its sports betting service in the United Kingdom with marketing partner AOL UK. "Lycos is a high-profile brand in the Internet community and this deal provides a significant boost to the reach of our brand," said Jaxx Managing Director Mark Irvine.

Branded Coral -- WagerWorks has agreed to supply Gala Coral with branded games for Coral's gaming platform. Thirteen WagerWorks games, including Monopoly, Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right, have been included in the deal. "Our customers love branded content and demand great game play . . . WagerWorks are industry leaders in this area," said Joe Coughlin, Coral's head of new product development.

Stock Watch -- On the LSE, Rank -- after canceling its dividend Wednesday -- was down 4.25p to 97.25, Neteller was down 1.25p to 58.50 and William Hill was down 11p to 510.00.
