Does Ladbrokes Have Good Lawyers?

After losing its appeal case in the Netherlands, Ladbrokes last week announced that it will issue a complaint to the EU Commissioner for the Internal Market, Charlie McCreevy. John O'Reilly, Ladbrokes' managing director remote betting and gaming, said the company will also attempt to reverse the decision in the Dutch Supreme Court. Dutch Lotto Director Tjeerd Veenstra, a fierce opponent of O'Reilly, believes that Ladbrokes is not very well informed in the Dutch court procedures.

The signing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGE) of 2006 forced publicly traded I-gaming companies to adjust their policies toward doing business with U.S. consumers. IGN recently published a list of companies that have decided to play it safe and sever ties with the market, along with some that are taking a wait-and-see approach.
