Desktop Conference: U.S. Virgin Islands Prepares for Internet Casinos

Shortly after Nevada passed its Internet casino enabling legislation, the United States Virgin Islands followed suit. Bill No. 24-0046, the "United States Virgin Islands Technology Initiative," was passed on July 18 before being signed into law by the territorial governor, Charles Turnbull, on August 3. Now the Virgin Islands Casino Control Commission must work out the necessary procedures and regulations for the territory's future e-casino licensees. Eileen Petersen, the chairman of the Virgin Islands Casino Control Commission, provides insight into the steps being taken.
