Online Gaming in Colorado

On 10 June 2016, Colorado became the fifth state to enact daily fantasy sports law when Gov. John Hickenlooper signed H 1404. The Division of Professions and Occupations is currently responsible for oversight of the industry. Additionally, contests including amateur sporting events, such as college sports, are prohibited under the bill.

State legislators began advocating for Colorado sports betting in 2018 following the U.S. Supreme Court decision to abolish PASPA, and a legislative push in 2019 was underway.

In 2021, there were more than a dozen online betting sites and apps in Colorado, with more than 90% of sports bets in the state coming via mobile devices.
