The subcommittee hearing on the Kyl bill is being held today. IGN publisher Sue Schneider will be attending the hearing along with other representatives from the Interactive Gaming Council. They will be submitting written testimony but are not allowed to present verbal testimony. So far, the only witness list released has the same old stand-bys....two Attorneys General, and reps from the NCAA and the NFL. We got a hold of a draft of the bill.»

Axxis is a wholly owned corporation of the Ochapowace Band, a sovereign First Nation located near Whitewood, Saskatchewan, Canada.»

(AIEE) has entered into an agreement to sell 80 percent of its interest in its wholly owned subsidiary, Eminet Domain (d/b/a Atlantic Internet) to Centerline Associates, Inc. for $2.5 million. Centerline will pay Atlantic in a combination of cash and Atlantic stock (500,000 shares of AIEE) that it currently owns. The closing date of the transaction is March 31, 1999.»

Russian Republic Legalizes Internet Gaming

A Russian law firm called John Tiner & Partners reports that it has drafted a law legalizing Internet gaming in the Republic of Kalmykia, a member republic of the Russian Federation. According to the firm, the legislation was passed on March 9, 1999 by the parliament of Kalmykia and is the first known law in Russia to recognize Internet casinos.»
